The Best Videos of Famous People Reading Fanfiction About Themselves

We love it when the people behind real-person fanfiction share their reactions. Here are our favorite videos of Shawn Mendes, The Try Guys, and more of our favorite stars and influencers reading (and sometimes reenacting) real-person fanfics about themselves.

Shawn Mendes

Singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes is a very popular subject for real-person fanfiction online. In this video for iHeartRadio, he reads a fan-created romance where he is the lead.

The Try Guys

Internet darlings and Youtube creators The Try Guys did an entire video where they not only read their own fanfiction, but acted it out! We love their commitment to celebrating fan art (and their choice of sandwich-based censorship for the naughty bits).

TheOdd1sOut

Animator James Rallison, better known as "TheOdd1sOut" not only read an excerpt of fanfiction about himself, but actually animated it to hilarious results. The combination of animation and commentary is brilliant.

Rhett & Link

Youtubers Rhett and Link, known for their show Good Mythical Morning, devoted a special episode to reading fanfiction about themselves. Unlike most of the others on this list, they fully commit to reading the adult content and it's all gamified. Since they've never read the stories before, their reactions are completely real. It's simultaneously awkward and hysterical.

Laura Marano

We loved this clip of actress Laura Marano reading a fanfic about a love story featuring her and the band 5 Seconds of Summer.

The Dolan Twins

Influencer twins Ethan and Grayson Dolan tried to hold it together for this video where they read dirty fanfiction about themselves. They eventually also did their own funny reenactment video, but the original is just perfect.

Danny Gonzales & Drew Gooden

Friends and top Youtubers Danny and Drew read this absolutely bizarre and riotous slash fanfic about themselves in a way that will have you laughing the whole time.
